Chenek is one of the top natural hotspots in Simien Mountains National Park, located 58 km from Debark town at an elevation of 3,600 meters above sea level. This breathtaking destination is known for its spectacular landscapes and serves as the gateway to Mount Bwahit, Ethiopia’s second-highest peak.

      – Walia Ibex – A rare mountain-dwelling goat found only in Ethiopia
       -Ethiopian Wolf – The world’s rarest canid species
       -Gelada Monkey – A unique primate known for its striking red chest
       -Leopard – One of Africa’s most elusive predators

-Lammergeier (Bearded Vulture) – A majestic bird of prey with a wingspan of up to 3 meters
-Buzzards, Cisticolas, Larks, and many other fascinating birds
